I was sitting at the counter of my favourite coffee place doing what I do when I commune with God. What is it I do? Sometimes it's praying. Sometimes it's journaling. Sometimes it's both. In essence, those are two of the same thing.
I started asking the questions, "What makes God awesome?" "What is it about God that deems His worship?" "What does 'awesome' mean?" (I should point out that there were people in the coffee shop and while a conversation with a dozen coffee addicts would have proven interesting, I decided to answer these questions privately)!
I believe that God answers prayer through Scripture, so when I remembered the verse "The heavens declare the glory of God...," I not only forgot how to finish it, I forgot what chapter and book of the Bible it came from! Funny thing because when that happens, my instinct is to look that verse up and see what it really means.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
When I pray and journal I sometimes use any thoughts, questions, or answers to questions on RetroSwitch Live. I thought I HAD to express these thoughts on my show. So, during the next show I would throw the question out to the listening audience and talk about my coffee shop experience. According to the New International Version of the Bible, Psalm 19 was written "for the director of music, by David," a musical number indicating that the heavens deem God worthy of respect, honour and proclamation. God's awesomeness is found in the way His creation declares His glory. If God's creation in the skies can declare Him awesome, then how much more significant can we, His people creation, do the same?
